We have had a mostly mild start to winter here in MinneSNOWta, with a few blizzards mixed in, of course! It would be wonderful if the weather continued this way! We made it through the sub-zero temperatures of the -40 degree week, and now we’re back in the 10-30 degree range, which feels like a summer vacation! February is right around the corner, and while it is the shortest month of the year, it always feels the longest because it is the coldest month in MN!

I enjoy making star blocks, even though they can get tedious. I had a star quilt in mind for Christmas, to represent the Star of Bethlehem. As I looked at all the finished blocks hanging on the design wall, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. It almost felt like I was looking at a bunch of wrapped presents with bows on top, all ready to be opened on Christmas morning. Hence the name, ‘Christmas Morning’. I can only imagine the joy of sleeping under this quilt, surrounded by the twinkling stars of Bethlehem. What a magical way to celebrate Christmas!

As I eagerly flipped through the fabric of my Bonnie and Camille Vintage Holiday layer cake I knew I had to find a way to make the most of the brilliant prints, many of which were too large to be cut up into small pieces. I decided to minimize the stars, allowing the larger prints to be showcased. I was excited to create something that was sure to be a beautiful showstopper, and Vintage Holiday is the name of this fabric line.
