Country Cottage- Smitten with Spring

Spring is here!! What better way to celebrate than with a new quilt pattern! Country Cottage is a layer cake friendly quilt pattern. This beginner quilt pattern comes in a throw size only, measuring 64 in. 75 in.

Lots of Spring cleaning has been happening at Yellow Umbrella Quilts! I found this Smitten with Spring layer cake by Windham Fabrics in my fabric stash. I was hit with some quilty inspiration, and went to the drawing board! Country Cottage was created.

The grey, yellow, and blue paired with raincoats, birds and gardening tools, gives it the perfect mix of Spring! My favorite part about this fabric line is the little yellow umbrellas.

I love working with layer cakes because they give such a variety of fabric vs the handful of bolts chosen from the line by whichever brick and mortar shop you are shopping at.

This line might be a little outdated, but it still gives such a fresh vibe. I can’t wait to start planting in the garden! We usually have a mix of vegetable, such as tomatoes, squash, green beans, jalapeños, and cucumbers. I enjoy planting Gerber Daisies the most.
